The town got it's name from Benjamin Franklin, one of the founding fathers of the Country. This sparsely populated town has 2800 people in a 5 square mile area. Franklin prides in being a clean agricultural community, with vast farmlands and open spaces. Not surprisingly, the town has an active ' Environmental and Open Space Commission'. The town also has a fantastic Home Energy Assistance Program for low-income residents above the age of 55. The lack of pollution and commercialization characterize this quiet yet pretty town. It doesn't surprise us that residents often narrate stories of having spotted friendly bears in the neighborhood.
