The town of Phillipsburg has a population of 15,200 people residing in a nut over 3 square miles. The town is now zoned an UEZ (urban development zone). Once upon a time Phillipsburg was a major transportation hub but things changed with changing times. Phillipsburg lost quite a few of it's manufacturing jobs. The real-estate prices are indicative of the fact that things have gotten better after Phillipsburg was zoned an UEZ. Being chosen as the site for the New Jersey Railroad and Transportation Heritage Center and Museum was a feather in the cap for the town. This museum showcases the state's transportation history.
