| About the area |
In the middle of Oneida County is the town of Lee and Lee Center, New York. The town has over 27,000 acres of land. The town was made in the early 1800s but the land was settled in 15 years earlier. John Hall devised plans for a saw mill and it was built. Here people came from all around the area to get lumber to build their houses. These homes crept up around the area and the town began to grow larger and larger. Today the community still has ties to the lumber industry and new saw mills have been built.
