| About the area |
The first company to start in Paris New York was Homogenous Metals. This business mined for metals in the area and transported them. This area was created in 1792 and provided corn to other towns in the region. Today the community still has several farms that grow corn for profit. The town also has many restaurants, banks, stores, and small family businesses. In the summer many people fish at the local rivers and in the winter ice skating is a popular sport.
