Boonton Township is home to nearly 4300 people, in the vicinity of Rockaway Valley, and is largely rural. Almost 50% of it is just hills and farmlands. I-287 and US Rt 46 pass through. Rockaway Valley Garden Club is an active organization that gets together to beautify the area by planting trees and flowering shrubs. The place is inundated by parks and clubs, such as Richard Wilcox Park, Halsey Frederick Park and Peace Pipe Country Club.
