West Jordan is home to Broadview University. This school offers programs in accounting, animal science, business, creative arts, health science, legal studies and technology leading to certificates, associate, bachelor and master's degrees. The city sponsors an Independence Day Festival and Western Stampede rodeo. The West Jordan Historical museum consists of a a small West Jordan homestead including several out buildings, an orchard, lots of trees, chickens and antique machinery. There is also a working blacksmith shop with an original forge, original handmade blacksmith tools and hand forged items. Buildings relocated to the museum site include an 1867 granary building with West Jordan and Utah dairy items, the Cottage Inn West Jordan’s first soda fountain/lunch counter/small groceries business and the two-story 100-year old historic Steadman barn.
