Deep in the woods of the Adirondacks is where Duane is located. Many beautiful back roads take you through the tiny town. About 159 people live here with a little over 40 families residing. The town was formed from part of the county seat Malone and was established by James Duane. He was the grandson of the New York State Mayor James Duane. The wooded areas are home to all kinds of wildlife including bears, eagles, and the occassional moose. Moose died out in the Adirondacks for awhile but have been on the rise in recent years.
