| About the area |
Geddes is a town of approximately 18,000 located just west of Syracuse. It is named after James Geddes, a prominent early settler who settled at the head of Onondaga Lake before 1800. Today, the town of Geddes sits on the west edge of Onondaga Lake (it probably did then too). Route 690 runs through Geddes on the western edge of Onondaga Lake. The Thruway runs just north of the town and Route 695 runs just south of it.
